Helen Keller |
In a mere seven words Helen Keller demolishes Rick Santorum's entire philosophy of self-righteous indifference to education and outright hostility toward institutions of higher learning, the "intellectual elite," and all others who stray from his own pinched view of religion and politics.
Rick Santorum |
"The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision."
Panderbear thinks that blind and deaf Helen Keller saw farther and heard more clearly the clarion call of social justice than Rick Santorum.

What gives me pause is the numbers from Miss and Alabama from the day prior to the electorate attending their polling places. I dare say your graphs from the religious affiliations (see the Atheists Underrepresented segment here) in these two states would be skewed towards the upper affiliations. Avowed atheists are still strung up in Alabama next to Muslims and mouthy black folk. But the numbers I speak of are the percentages of folk in Alabama and Mississippi who still believe Obama is a Muslim. And I mean Republicans here. So I should say specifically Republican folks. We are talking about the voters for tomorrow's Primaries. The educated voters. 45% in Alabama believe the president (or Parsident as we say in the south) is a Muslim. And in Mississippi it is 52%. An additional 41 and 36% are unsure of the president's affiliation. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI believe they are all clear on Santorum's affiliation. And they all know Romney is a Mormon though I would hate to guess the percentages that know exactly how this differs in the minute details from their own defined churchly goings as far as Trinities and Revelations go. God, if only Helen Keller was running. She was a Godly woman wasn't she? Honey, is Helen a Republican? Because we know the only quality we want in our commander-in-chief is Godliness. And the right God I mean. Christ would know what to do with them Iranians. Don't you know? Let's go vote.
My only quibble is regarding how clear social conservatives and especially southern conservative voters are on Rick Santorum's affiliation. He claims Catholic, but speaks Evangelical Christian.
